You’re not stuck on a puzzle - you want to create something new. Maybe you’re brainstorming a username, a pen name, or a fun rearrangement of a friend’s name. This anagram generator is built for exploration: enter any word or phrase, then use filters to find candidate words you can turn into something memorable.
Generating anagrams for names and phrases
Enter a name or phrase and look for words that stand out. The current tool does not automatically write polished multi-word phrases, so use it as an idea board: collect strong candidates, remove awkward ones, and combine the best words yourself.
Narrowing results by length and letter filters
When the list is long, use the length field to find short, punchy words or longer candidates. Contains, starts with, ends with, exclude, and pattern filters help you keep only the words that match the tone or clue you have in mind.
Using wildcards for partial inspiration
If you have a few letters and want to see what words they can form, use wildcards. For example, enter “a?t” to generate all three-letter words with A and T. This is useful when you’re starting from a vague idea and want to see what’s possible.
Exact vs. broader word-finder use for different goals
For a perfect anagram, set the length to match the number of letters you entered and manually confirm the result uses the right letters. For brainstorming, keep the search broader and collect shorter words that could work inside a name, clue, or creative phrase.
Saving and sharing your favorite anagrams
Once you find a result you like, copy it directly from the tool. There’s no account or login required. Use the anagram for a username, a puzzle clue, or a creative project. The generator is designed to be a quick source of ideas, not a complicated app.
Anagram example
For a true anagram, enter the letters or phrase, turn on the exact/all-letter mode, and remove spaces or punctuation. If the puzzle allows partial words, leave exact mode off and scan by length.
Before you accept the anagram
Before you accept an anagram, decide whether the puzzle requires every letter. Exact mode is right for full anagrams; partial mode is better when you are exploring smaller words inside a longer phrase.
